I posted a similar question a few days ago and have found out thru my dr and the nurses who perform my weekly reactive non stress test is that it's very "normal" for a baby to be active one day and a little less another day. They are small humans just like us and some days I know I sure don't feel like doing much compared to another day. About kick counts, the only thing they are good for is driving an already nervous mom to be crazier!! If u are truly concerned and ur over 27week request a non stress test it measures heart rate and movements that the mom may not even feel. I've had 2 so far and I was very surprised of how many kicks and turns that I actually miss but the sensitive equipment they use detects. It makes me feel better on those days when shes being "lazy"

It is normal. And, remember that as the baby gets older he is more cramped and moves less and less. You will feel less big kicks. You can count, lay on your left side and literally count the times you feel him move. BUT don't stress TOO much because it is rare for your baby to not be fine if you havent had any problems. and stress is not good for him. I did the same thing, though around 37 weeks and went to the doc and sure enough right there on the table he kicked me in the ribs hard enough to make me have to stand up...as if to say "im right here lady!" haha. already a personality =) as long as you feel some movement hes probably fine just remember that it wont feel like as much as when he had plenty of room to move around. also, if it concerns you and you dont have hours to sit and count try getting one of those heartlistening things from target so you can just check up on him if youre feeling apprehensive. oh! and get used to it...youll be watching him breathe for the first 6 months....happy parenting!

It can be normal for a baby to do this but prolonged, decreased movement must always be checked out. If your baby is quiet for longer than a day or so or you don't feel any movement in a four hour period then just ring a midwife or your obs/gynea person for instruction.

Yes! There are babies that are real, real quiet, and others that do more kicking. Be patient. You will need a lot of patience over the years, so best to start now. But it is good you have somewhere to ask!

Totally normal. There's alot of factors goin on-- what u ate, ur activity level, so forth. I know its easy to be hyper-aware, but relax. As long as he or she is moving, its ok. That's what my OBGYN told me............awesome advice! and any concerns, don't be afraid to call. After all, it's your baby, and thats what you pay them for.
