I am a PC person and not a fan of the Mac. But i have quite a few friends who love the Mac. They swear they do not have any probs with viruses and so on. Maybe true...but in a matter of time, when Mac becomes a more used platform, then the hackers will find an interest in breaching their security. I would say most people use PCs right now...so that is why PCs are targeted. It's only a matter of time. But, just cuz the Macs do not get viruses, it does not mean they are immune to hardware issues. the problem with Macs is that most people will have to send it in to get repaired...while us PC users can fix the prob ourselves! That's why i like PCs...i can upgrade and repair them myself...no need to send in to get is serviced. i hate waiting!!! :) it's just a matter of time...

Everything in mind, 90% of programs made wont even work on a mac which limits any viruses naturally. Most people use windows so no ones really going to program a virus specifically for macs.

it relatively is a lot extra durable to create something that ought to reflect itself and bypass itself on by means of Macs. It purely is impossible to get something to run with administrator privileges on a Mac OS X device devoid of the consumer typing of their password. maximum folk won't click on some random hyperlink in an e mail or on a shady internet site after which form of their password whilst triggered. it relatively is this hassle-free point of protection it relatively is recent on Macs (that purely isn't there in domicile windows) that provides Mac OS X a much better inherent point of protection. maximum folk have a laptop so the geeks that make viruses cause them to for desktops that maximum folk have. extra persons are procuring Macs these days so viruses would start up spreading by means of Macs now in the event that they are able to get by means of OS X.

They are not immune, but as most viruses are developed to attack Microsoft then the codes would not affect a Mac but there are certainly some viruses out there, just not as many. So you are at less risk but not Zero

Yes, very nonsense. Viruses attack the programs that they are attached to , not the specific computer. If I download a virus infected application on mac it will affect my mac....
