I have a huge collection for the world that my mother and uncles collected since 1940 .
But I don't live in USA and no known stamp specialists in my country that I can trust .

Not sure where you live, but if you don't feel confident to bring your stamps to any dealer, then don't do so. Follow your instincts. Some dealers are not honest, and within a minute or two, they can tell whether you're a novice, and well, the rest of the story I guess you can imagine. What I suggest you can start doing is to ensure that your stamps are well kept and preserved in the right manner. If the stamps are stored in some metal case, removed them from the case immediately. If the stamps are stored in some cheap stamp albums, removed them(carefully) as well. Cheap albums are heaven to silverfish(those little insects that eat your stamps). For evaluating stamps, well, I can't think of any other resources besides stamp catalogs and dealers. Oh, but you can try this free guide: http://www.stanleygibbons.com/priceguide/
As to how you can sell them, the best is still through stamp shops. But once you have a general idea on how much your stamps are worth, you'll feel more confident to step into any shop.

I took my grandfather's collection to a stamp dealer, and although he was impressed with what I had (Grandpa had stamps dating back to early 1800s), he said they were not valuable from his standpoint because that all had been cancelled.
