That used to happen to me until I done it in front of a mirror and seen where it came from. There is a lump under your tongue that I like to refer to as 'a bit of a squirter' (long-winded but descriptive). If you keep your tongue down on the bottom of your mouth, rather than curling it, (think about it, I bet that's what happens to you, it's an involuntary motion!) then your mouth will catch all that lovely saliva.

When you yawn you put pressure on the salivary glands under the tongue, which then squeeze out a jet of saliva.
