Those annoying glue patches that are left by sales stickers on your CD's and DVd's etc. How can I get this off without damaging the item?

You don't need any of the above crap. When u take a sticker off there's usually still some stickiness on the sticker, if u press it on the sticky patch on the cd/dvd repeatedly it should gradually come off. If u are left with that white papery layer when the sticker rips use your nails to drag it off then wipe heavily with your thumb to remove any smudges. I have over 300 dvd's and this method works for me.

I also use Ronsonol lighter Fluid ( yellow tim) - or eye make up remover - or Baby Oil !! (sometimes, Corn oil.)
Just put onto a cotton wool ball and rub - for super sticky residue - pour on directly, leave for a while, then wipe off in a circular motion. All work well and are better suited to different surfaces. For CD covers - all will work fine !

I use a piece of tape wrapped around my finger, sticky side out. Just keep pressing the tape to the glue and little by little it will remove the sticky mess that was left behind by the sticker.

Use flyspray in the aerosol can. Saturate the sticker well and leave for a few minutes. The 'glue' simply wipes off. Alternatively use brass polish (Brasso). Also, apply liberally and leave a few minutes. The glue dissolves and you wipe if off with a wet cloth. These two products are oil based and I think that is what does the trick. It leaves no residual marks and no scratches either. For the past 20 years this tip has never failed me.
Good luck!!

I always get a wet cloth and just let it soak over the patch for a while, when its really moist it will just wipe off.

Provided water will NOT harm the product...try simple steam. You may own a STEAMER or your household IRON or a STEAM PRODUCING PIECE OF COOKWARE with a VENT. The HIGHLY FLAMEABLE LIQUIDS ARE PROBABLY NEXT BEST
