Can I get any advice on song writing?

I'm trying to compose a song, I have no problem writing lyrics. But the melody, how do I come up with my own original melody? Can anyone give me any advice on this?

listen to lots and lots of music will def. help, you dont have to be a creative / intelligent person to compose a melody/lyrics, its juz pop out naturally
