I am sorry to read your story. As your husband is heavy drunkard, I do not think he must be working and as such, it is futile to ask for any compensation. If you are educated, you should look out for a job and think of marriage (only after you are legally divorced).

Drinking (intoxication) is not an offence in India. Liquour consuming is neither barred nor prohibited in any Indian Law. The Govt. grants licenses to liquour manufacturers, bars, liquour shops etc. and gets huge amount. Being a heavy drunker is not bad in any Indian law. A lot are unemployed now a days and doing nothing. The offence cheating is defined in Sec.420 IPC and the law recognizes an act as cheating only if it coming under the purview of Sec.420 IPC. Be Indian and respect Indian laws. Punishing somebody is an offence; only the courts inflict punishment on proof by valid evidence which constitute an offence. However lessons can be taught if somebody is ready to learn and not otherwise or forcibly. Govt. provides free education to children below 14, yet not free to adults in colleges/universities.

You can report to police or file a suit in Court. It is very difficult to each him a lesson. Drunker never get a lesson.
I want to teach a lesson to my spouse but have dropped the idea. If it very difficult to each others. For that you must be B.Ed. but it is easy to get a lesson.

I have read both your questions & facts mentioned there. You have a strong case for divorce on the basis of cruelty & desertion in your favor. Although you yourself have come back to your mother’s home but it was provoked by him & your in laws so you can plead it in this way. He is unemployed & drunker so what monetary compensation you can get is not possible to say but you can get relief under the latest protection of women from domestic violence Act for protection order against him for not commit any domestic violence against you, even during the pendency of the pendency of divorce case. You can even file complaint under section 498A Indian Penal Code for cruelty (physical or mental) against him for which he can get imprisonment. These are briefly few legal options that you can use against him.

As you are in a position to place a query here, i think you may be a graduate with wisdom. So, try to mould yourself to reach a higher position in your life rather than thinking to harm him physically, which will automatically teach him a lesson at any day of his life for his wrongful behaviour at you. So be ambitious and lay the foundation steps in achieving goal.I wish you good luck.

first you file a case against him in a court,if you are not willing to li
ve with him, then you can divorce him,and for how many days will
that compensation money will come for you, money will come
and go,but good relations are only forever in this world and they
will come till the last of your breath,so you divorce him and try
to marry a another person who is good, kind, affection to you,
if you try this your life and your child's life will be having a good
future,so do it soon, best of luck.
