There have been many news reports on people from other countries asking for money. If you have never heard of that person, its obviously a scam. It's just better to be safe with your hard earned money and if you feel like being charitable, do it locally and with agencies or individuals you trust will do the right thing.

Do not be a fool in believing. Email scams need gullible people to send them money.
The women is really a gang of crooks and the email is one of millions of spam sent. If you reply they know your email account is active and will pester you to give them money.
If you give them money you are paying them to continue doing this scam. Do not be tricked by these people as they are plucking your vulnerable emotions to cash in.

Robert P who is 5 post down from mine is wrong if he is saying it is okay to send money to annoymous email spams.

Definitely a fake. Don't deal with them even if you feel tempted to!

You can try to play along with her game and you can see that she/or more accurately he, will be reluctant to give out a bank account number, and instead want u to use Western Union.

don't respond. Also take the email address remove her name use abuse@ whatever provider she uses and send complaint.
