Irregular periods during the first year is pretty common. You do not have PCOS as there are other symptoms like putting on weight, excessive facial hair growth, hyperpigmentation of skin especially on the neck etc associated with it.So rest assured you do not have it.However get an Ultrasound scan of the abdomen if u still have doubts.

The fact that you are 14 and have only had your period for a year means you WILL be irregular. It's not usual for Aunt Flow to show up on a regualr basis until you have had it for a while. If you are worried, there are some links below to info on it. If you find symptoms other than the irregularity or it doesn't clear up in the next 2 years get checked out.
Good luck, HTH

For a start, don't worry too much about it, PCOS is not life-threatening, a lot of women have it without knowing it. It doesn't have to affect your life. The chances are you haven't got it, you're only just going through puberty, things are likely to be a bit all over the place. Other sympoms include bad acne, excess facial hair, weight problems. If you're really worried then you can ask your doctor to run some blood hormone tests, but at this stage I wouldn't be too worried.

Please dont worry about your periods being irregular, thats perfectly normal at 14 and if u do develop PCOS dont worry, its not the end of the world. I have it and I conceived a baby all by myself, well i did have help from my partner but apart from that. There are also pills u can take what help regulate ur periods and with hair growth and stuff.
You are perfectly normal for your age so dont worry and enjoy yourself.

If your body fails to get curvy by age 18 or 19,your start to get symptoms of diabetes, frequent urination, extreme thirst, and when you are 21 and begin partaking of beer, wine, mixed drinks you are super-sensitive to alcohol (getting really tipsy after just one drink or so) expecially during or right before your period, you may have PCOS. So,right now at your age, with just the irregular periods, it's really hard to tell. Talk to your doctor (any medical doctor)about it at your next visit.
