You sound like a decent person.
I could not care less if someone is trendy. It is up to each of us how to spend our money. I prefer to spend mine on antiques.
I dress how I am comfortable as, I assume, you do. I dress how I am comfortable, both physically and mentally. Comfortable, for me, is how I have dressed since I purchased my motorcycle in '86.... jeans, black or "attitude" t'shirts, leather shoes or boots, leather jacket (not my original from the 80's because it was destroyed by a cat in 2000), *ss long hair (that has nothing to do with being a Biker).
If you, who is trendy, do not mind this anachronistic Biker, then the Biker has no problems with you either. ;)

I don't follow 'trends' because
a) There are so MANY trends, that who decides which is the correct one?
b) Not all trends are for every body type. Someone older, and heavier, and would look rediculous in a mini skirt, for example.
c) Some trends are patently STUPID. Like wearing those baggy jeans with the waist around your thighs instead of where they belong.
d) It is my right to wear what I want, regardless of what anyone else wants.
e) Buying a new wardrobe every few days would get too expensive.
f) If everyone followed trends, there wouldn't be trends, because no one would change and become trendSETTERS.
Enough reasons?

You are absolutely right. There is nothing wrong with following fashion. However, people are judgemental by nature. What you where does tend to reflect a little of yourself on the outside, which would be the whole purpose of following trends. There are many trends to follow, and the trend you choose is the trend that reflects you. Don't worry about what people who don't follow trends think, only worry about the ones that do. They are the ones who know exactly what your clothes are saying about you.

Following a particular trend is not wrong. However, before doing so you must see whether if it suits you.
Why do something that doesn't suit but instead make you look like a poser?
Everyone has the choice to do something that they like. But still they should know their limits.
By the way, let people think whatever they want. Only YOU KNOW YOURSELF BETTER. If people say you are superficial and you are not, then don't bother.
You cannot change what people think about you. But instead you change what YOU think about yourself.

That's all well and good, just don't let your love of fashion trends rule what you wear. Come up with your own styles, don't just let some person in the fashion industry tell you what's hot. I mean you're talking about the same people that let Bjork dress up in a swan dress with feathers.

Forget those ppl, they get to me after a while too. I like fashionable things too. But ppl will always say stuff because they hate. Now when I buy clothes I make sure there's no labels showing; I like nice clothes but I don't need everyone to know it's by Canali....
Some things you can't hide though, ppl just know it's a Burberry scarf.....lol

Liking anything, even superficial things, isn't bad as long as you have perspective. If you're a good person, who treats others with kindness and respect no matter what they're wearing, ignore the nay-sayers. Defend yourself with your actions, not your words.
And if they really make you mad, go shopping!

No. He never told anyone to do anything bad. You will not find it in the Bible. Jesus was an excellent example for us to follow.

I still don't understand the question. About fashion, most fashions don't last so it isn't worth worrying about.
