If anyone knows, I'd like to know which papers and documentation are required (in simple terms), the process, and the typical length of the procedure.

The county or district clerk can provide you with the correct paper work. There is also a filing fee. Best to get a lawyer to do this for you, since it is a court process and you want to be sure you have all paper work you need and worded correctly.

It can probably be set up a paralegal. They do the paper work and filing for you. Reviewed by an attorney.
