If you have already made the commitment then you should go in. In future you need to be less dependable when it comes to being taken for granted, since you seem to believe you are, and let them depend on somebody else. I have learnt that you give your best to a company you work for, but don't kill yourself at doing so. When you get sick, or are no longer 100% to them (sometimes because, they have made you ill), they simply get somebody to replace you.

yea you have the right to ignore the phone. Have you signed a contract? You have the right to notice before bing expected to come in at a moments notice. Why dont you sit down with your boss and ask can this be put right, you should have a contract of your hours and how much notice you should be given before being asked to come in. If it's difficult to avoid the subject for whatever reason say you stayed at a friends house last night and you should have been told to come in early at least the day before. You have rights, find out what they are by asking for the policy and procedures manual, your boss legally has to have one or at least an agreed contract that you and he/she have signed.

Depends on your contract. You could ask for it as overtime.
