Like say you decide to love someone you just met, because you feel like they need it. Is it possible to do that? Would you have to ignore all their flaws once you get to know them? Or would you accept everything about them. Would it matter if they loved you back?

I don't mean love in a romantic sense.

You can NEVER love unconditionally...

The conditions are always - he must be loyal to you, must not cheat, must give you time, must be considerate...

If it was unconditional, you would allow him to hurt you...

Not sure if it's love or not but you can decide to be a friend and look out for someone. If it's a person you want to have a relationship with then no. If they are not earning your love then it will never work. You might stay with them but it's more out of connivance than love.

Honey, it may work in the beginning but it is a road going to no where. You can like someone, or feel pity for someone, enough to be their friend, but LOVE them, when you feel nothing, is not fair for you and its not fair for him. UNLESS it's convenient for him. BE MORE SPECIFIC PLEASE.. so we can better answer your question....

P.S. I tried that once, with someone that was in love with me, but i wasn't feeling it back. I tried to give him the chance, cause i figured well i can learn to love him, and why not, he loves me right? I thought that was all that mattered and i could eventually learn to love him back. Never happened. I couldnt force myself to be attracted to someone, and i told him and he insisted. I couldn't go on living a lie after 2 yrs past. { i was always truthful with him- he seemed to think that time would help} Never did. I winded up in the end letting him go, so he could find someone that truely saw in him what i couldnt. He was a great man, but i couldnt learn to love him in the end. I wasn't happy.

Nope. You can't "decide" to love. Love is an emotion and it has to have the feeling behind it for it to work.

Once you do love, the rest of this stuff is irrelevant.
