Tan D is correct. We have to learn to accept criticism. With critcism , we can improved and move forward. Those who constantly criticise are those who are not willing to improve and are always standing on the same spot. They will be left out of this world soon.

Azayi can said and write what he likes. He is entitled to his own opinion. Result and progress of one country are for all to see. We do not have to rebutt to all criticism. Why care Azayi or Ron lim said. Don't wast time with them.

Honey, YOU don't really have a problem. Your friends do. They are offering opinions on (1) something that is not their business; (2) something that does NOT need fixing...your hair is perfectly OK as it is; and (3) a friend's personal appearance that they've not been asked their opinion on. Now you've let their problem become yours. You've internalized their pushing their opinions on you. For some reason, I'm sure, you've let these gnats get under your skin. It's like so not your problem. You have the right attitude; now follow through with ignoring their ignorance. For some reason, again, you're letting this get under your skin, even though you really know it's not their issue to opine upon. Having a snappy comeback isn't going to fix this...you need to develop the ability to have "a presence in the room." Where is their respect? When someone says something stupid like that, just look at them with the coldest stare you can muster. You are totally above that kind of drivel. If that doesn't deter their rudeness, you can say, "Did I ask your opinion?" Don't smile. I hope you'll consider searching out some new friends. The ones you have sound like little petty, controlling, jealous bi***es. You're cute and hip and articulate...I'm sure you can do better. Good luck, sweetie.

There has always been this animosity between the two countries, largely based on simplistic stereotyping and mistrust. It does not help much when Dr 'anything for publicity' Mahatir stirs things up, as he has yet again recently. PM Abdulah has worked hard to improve relations, but in places like Malaysia (and now Thailand) it is very easy to manipulate people's 'nationalist' sentiments as a way of distracting people from other problems nearer home. Unfortunately, Singapore-bashing (closely followed by foreigner-bashing) are the easiest way of diverting home criticism. This will change as the population, as well as the economy, develops.
So, in the meantime, carry on with your lives but try to understand each other better too and be aware of how powerful people can 'play' with the sensitive sentiments of others, especially in countries like Malaysia and Singapore, where the press is 100% controlled.
