I will recommend to you the best Antivirus I already used, it is Norton 2006 or higher but be sure to run liveupdate periodically so your virus definitions will remain stable.
Based on your situation, I think restoring your OS to its factory settings will not help. But rather do these steps:
1. Backup your data.
2. Format your drive and install a fresh copy of OS.
3. Install antivirus
4. Install all software you need to use.
This will wipe every single virus or worm that had affected your computer recently, and will surely doesn't attack you anymore.

This techniqie wipes off all data - be warned:
I would find "DFT" from IBM to run drive fitness first. It's a free download, and helps to see if the might be hardware issues.
Next run "ZAP" to clear the boot sector
Next, I would do a Windows install from the ground up. Boot from Windows, and delete the partitions, then recreate them. Format them with full testing.
Once it is first running, put on a virus checking program immediately, before other programs.

Everyone has suggested software, I'll suggest check your HARDWARE. Check the power supply and motherboard for bad capacitors, plenty of computers suffer from this.
