If you have the Recovery CD you can boot from the recovery cd and install the System to the Factory state.

XP along with all drivers and other HP Applications.

If you dont have the cd and if you have bought your Laptop recently, vendors are going with something known as Magic Partition. That would be hidden from the normal partitions and when you want to restore when starting the computer you need to press some Key Combination and you are in the restore menu.

Still need help get back to me.

All u need is an anti virus to take out the viruses and a tune up program to fix ur windows up. that's all what u need first uninstall ur anti virus if you have one and then you should either BUY kaspersky anti virus (the best) or if u wanna something free try avira personal anti virus, my advice is to buy the kaspersky tho bc it will clean up ur pc and u will still have it after that to be protected once ur done with that ur computer is still gonna run slow and act all weird, u need a tune up program my adiadviceuld be TuneUp 2009 its pretty good and u can either buy it or look up a crack or something for it. sorry thathat'sking too long but if u need help send me a mesmessage something and ill see what i can do

With most PC's now, the recovery disks must be made while the PC is still working. Ususally people find out too late.

If your PC is still healthy, there's an option in there to generate the disks you need.

You can also get disks from HP.

The Recovery CD has XP on it. Simply put the recovery cd into your cd rom and restart your computer. It will prompt you from there.
