It also takes time for some people to adjust. Remember, Okafur was used to playing great talent, maybe not NBA-calibur talent, but great talent. Dwight Howard skipped college and went directly from highschool to the NBA, missing out on alot of key elements that college players have upon entering the draft. It usually takes college players even a few years to make the adjustment. Howard has been an incredible story, making the transition so fast. There are very few like him and LeBron that can do that in such a short time with so little experience.

Okafor was older and more seasoned. Howard was straight out of high school and was not fine tuned. Okafor had 4 years at a high level div 1 school that has given the NBA several solid players throughout its recent history.

Howard has a better supporting cast in Orlando then the one Okafor has in Charlotte.
