Middle: Mike Singletary and Ray Lewis
Outside: Lawrence Taylor and Derrick Thomas.

Note: I'm only using players from the last 25 years. The speed required by linebackers today is much greater than in the 50s-70s.

Inside Linebackers Dick Butkus and Jack Lambert

Outside Linebackers everyone thinks
Lawrence Taylor #1 ,but compare career stats and it is a toss up between L.T. and the most underated OLB ever Kevin Greene.

Career Sacks
L.T. 132.5 (4th all time - 2nd all time by a LB)
K.Greene 160 (3rd all time - 1st all time by a LB)

Career Fumble Recoveries
L.T. 11 (0 returned for td)
K.Greene 26 (3rd all time - 2nd all time by a LB)(1 returned for td)

Ints.
L.T. 9 (2 returned for td)
K.Greene 5 (2 returned for td)

Kevin Greene is also the only LB to lead the league in sacks in two different seasons'94 and '96.(DE Bruce Smith andDE Reggie White are the only other players to do this.)

also very underated Ricky Jackson

Career Sacks 128(5th all time-3rd all time for LBs behind Greene and Taylor)
Career Fumble Recoveries 29 (tied for 1st all time- 1st all time by a LB)

So hard to answer...because you have so many different eras to pick from...

I think current athletes are probably physically superior than the athletes of the past. Today's players are faster and stronger than they ever were. So choosing just two inside LBs and two Outside LBs is difficult, with the exception of Lawrence Taylor.

But without getting into too much detail, let me first state my two top Inside LBs of all time:

Mike Singletary and Jack Lambert

Outside LBs:

Lawrence Taylor and Derrick Thomas

Although there are probably better pure athletes on the field today, my choices for these guys are because they basically redefined the way their positions are played.

Today's obvious choices may include: Brian Urlacher, Ray Lewis, Shawne Merriman, and Derrick Brooks

if you take out current players, then:

Middle LB Jack Lambert and Mike Singletary
OLB Lawrence Taylor and Derrick Brooks

^and Kevin Greene played longer than LT, his sacks/year is lower (along with other reasons I won't get into). And though it's a case against LT, he actually ranks 7th in career sacks (and only 5th if you count his 9.5 "unofficial" ones from his rookie year)
