Futurama.
Most of the jokes on Family Guy occur when Peter says "Oh like that time I..." then he says something outrageous. Anybody can make a show like that. And Family Guy rips so much off of the king of all animated comedies, The Simpsons, especially Peter's character. Think about it - they're both dumb as rock, fat, drunk, and outrageous. Peter is just an exaggerated version of Homer.
Futurama's writers are much more original and insightful.
Anyways, neither are as good as South Park and the Simpsons.

You have to be of a higher intelligence to "get" Futurama while Family Guy is on a more juvenile level, which I guess explains why more people like FG. Personally, Futurama is tops for me!

nothing beats the Simpsons but family guy is by far funnier than futurama. Peter kicks Benders *** in that aspect .....I also have to agree with "handle the truth" Family Guy does try to hard and wreaks of effort.

Family Guy because Peter is just plain retarded and I like the randomness. But lately it feels like poor Family Guy has fallen into a pit of suck it will probably never get out of.
Futurama was ok but not a show you'd go out of your way to watch.

Futurama. Family guy gets a laugh now and then, but sometimes goes too far down the lame-silly road and doesn't turn around.

I really enjoy both.
I think Family Guy has funnier moments but is more hit and miss.
Futurama has many excellent geek jokes, perhaps not as many laugh out loud moments, but better overall writing.

They're both good, but Family Guy is the funniest. Every character on there is hilarious.
