a better question would be, "why does the world hate us?"

the answer would be: because we ruthlessly police and exploit them, invade their countries for personal profit under the guise of spreading democracy, fund terrorist organizations (sad truth people, and if you dont believe me do yourself ((and America)) justice by looking up the reagan-contra-CIA affair as one example) to keep countries out of control so that we can stay on top, and all around treat them with an i-dont-give-a-**** attitude. not to mention we, 5% of the worlds population, put out the MOST pollution in the world.

I think that many people around the world hate Americans because they see us as hypocrites and a godless people, who will say anything to make a buck--or parrot a bunch of gibberish like that being dished out by the present administration.

We are seen as people who say we are moral and upstanding, but commit atrocities at every turn. We say we have "God on our side", but live as if we don't have any concept of God.

To many, we are the most immoral culture since the ancient Roman Empire!

In addition to Joey's comment (though I don't feel as strongly as her), I would like to say that Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries in the region use American enmity as a political curtain to hide their feudal regimes behind. They donot share oil wealth with the rest of their nations, they deny rights to women and possibly the underpriviliged. Islamist feelings direct the nations' discontent elsewhere. Rousing religious and nationalist feelings to obscure political failure is commonly used everywhere these days. What's worse, the voters are buying it, and slowly we all are being filled with dislike and hate against others, just for the benefit of politicans or feudal lords.

At least we know who to blame if an all out war explodes.

Our freedom of speech. the stuff coming out of Hollywood. We would rather pay our actors and athletes more that we pay our important jobs. Police, Firefighters, and teachers. We love our entertainment more than our religions.

It's not the Arabs who hate us, it's the Muslim extremists. They think anybody who doesn't believe as they do should be put to death. Kinda like some liberals I know...
