Girls, do you know what I am talking about? Have u experienced this? I hv male friends who have basically lost touch..whereas before their marriage, we kept in touch almost everyday as thick friends. Then things dropped drastically after their marriage, and now it feels like I am forgotten and neglected. It hurts. I am single btw. And guys, why do you do this? Is it because of your wives?
As opposed to that, my female friendships have actually gotten stronger after their marriage. Interesting huh.

It hurts, because, I would never lose my precious friendships just becoz I am married. The guy I will marry will never want me to leave my friendships. And I stronly believe that men and women can be Just friends. Good friendships are meant to be forever...unlike dating relationships.

My quick answer would be because the wife doesn't approve of the friendship. But that is not the case in all friendships. The problem with human beings is that in main we try to be what we are not. The poor wife might not necessarily have a problem with the friendship, but because your male friend wants to pretend that he is a "clean" guy he starts neglecting his friends. Most people really don't understand that all kinds of love are important in one's life.
Once we get married, we start living unbalanced life. It is important that once you start talking marriage, you also talk about your life as an individual. We hardly do that. That is why I regard marriage as "unnatural" - because it makes most of us do unnatural things.
I am sorry that you are hurting, but you will find strength as this, too, shall pass! Good luck.

That's a simple answer. Girls are sensetive and the men don't want to hurt their wives or be accused of cheating and stuff. Or it could also be that their wife is jealous and told them to stop seeing the other women, even if they are just friends. Your girl friends get stronger for the same reason. Because now that they're married it's hard for them to hang out with their guy friends without the same suspicion. You need to let go and find yourself a man that will be your own and pay attention to only you.

well when a guy is dating a girl the girl he is dating usualy only wants her man to spend time with her. the girl wont except the guy she is married to to be around other girls expecialy single girls. on the other hand if a girl is friends with another girl and she marries a guy she will want time away from the guy once in a while so she will keep close contact with her friends so she is still able to have some free time. but many girls don't want there man to go out and have fun with out them.

What else can you expect when your guy friend has already married off? Of course your friend's wife will feel jealous. There will be a limit as well compared to the time when the two of you were together.

Guys are rarely girls best friends. Guys are only boyfriends or acquaintances or such. Girls are girls best friends. Guys are guys best friends. Guys want one thing (and you know what that is). This is their (our) main interest, that is, if we believe we have a shot at you, otherwise, basically, unless you're a walking talking encyclopedia, and there is some specific interest for keeping you around for our gain, we're really wasting our time. Otherwise, if guys are gay, then some of them might want to be your friend. Read up on some sociological and psychological research.

Yes I have experienced this. And I still miss my friend Derrick. And I think it has to do with the wife wanting to be the only female best friend in her husband's life. Which is kinda understandable.

Yes, it is the wife thing!!! After marriage the wives have more time to be your friend, since they don't have to go man hunting. Now go hunting for your own.

Because they make their wife their best friend and it's normal. You will do it when you get married without meaning to or to hurt someone.
