You would probably have to change the pistons, connecting rods, the crank shaft, and possibly the cam shaft(s). I'm not sure what the state of the wiring harness would be.

Well the factory colbalt ss does 0-60 in 6.1 and 1/4 mile in 14.4, while the colbalt ls does 0-60 in 8.4 and 1/4 mile in 16.6.
However, and aftermarket sc could get better numbers then this.
In theroy, you can just pop it in, but if you want to get the best performance out of it, you need to swap the fuel injectors, youre either going to need to swap or reprogram the ecu, youre going to need different belts, map sensors, air ducts, mounting brackets, gaskets, etc.
The cost for a kit from gm is between $2200-$2500.
Now the install requires alot of labor. YOure probably looking at 10 hours labor.. $100 an hour-$3500 total.

You would not have to change any of the internals. That ecotec motor has been tested tried and true at 15psi. The motor can take the added pressure from the supercharger. Its other components that you might need to worry about, like injectors and fuel pressure regulators, MAP settings and all other things fuel related. Expect around $3000-$3800 for a complete bolt-on kit. Kits come with injectors and fuel pressure regulators.

I would advise ya to change more if you installed a super charger but you dont need to, but if you dont it will limit power to some degree so why would you upgrade the exhaust and everything as well !

depends on your definition of better. It will make it faster, yes.

it will also void your warrenty, make your car less reliable, use more gas, and be louder.

should have just bought an SS cobalt.

Just sell it and get a Camaro SS. FWD doesn't work never will.
