The 'Guins are looking really good for a playoff berth this year, and I would say they have about as good a chance as anyone else in the east. The biggest problem they will have in the playoff is a lack of toughness. Lack of playoff experience may also be a factor, but they have enough talent to overcome it.

Two excellent scorers, a decent supporting cast, and a goaltender who is coming into the prime of his career. Sound familiar? (read:Lemieux, Jagr, and Barasso).

The answer is yes they can, but will they? That's up to Sid the Kid and company.

Although the Pens are arguably playing excellent hockey, it is a very long NHL season. Except for Mark Recchi, the Pens have a very young team and most of them have not been through the rigorous season and then the playoffs. I honestly think (and have been a Penguin fan my whole life), they will make the playoffs and maybe win the first round, but unless they get a little veteran depth at a couple positions, will go out in the second round. Go Pens!!

Wow what a 9-0-2 winning streak does for you. I though they would get into the playoffs no matter what but now I do believe they can win the cup. They haven't just played there style of hockey over that streak either. They have been playing some rough games that Penguin hates have been saying they can't play. This team is starting to scare teams and that's why there has been more cheap shots on Crosby. None of the teams can handle that a team with a 18yr old-Staal,19yr old-Crosby,20yr old-Malkin, 21yr old-Fleury are kicking there ***! Go Pens!!

I still don't see them getting the Cup this year. I mean yeah I hope they do but I think I'll have to see them do it in the playoffs as well first. They are hot and if they don't end up with the wrong people getting hurt or if they don't have problems stepping up they should be fine. Yeah the guys have some experience with the AHL Playoffs but I'm waiting to see if they can do the same in the NHL before I'd start etching their names into the Cup. Although it would be great to hear Lang calling out Stanley Lord Stanley again.

They've improved a lot, but they're not nearly good enough for the cup yet. They don't have enough depth at the blue-line and I don't think Fluery would be able to hold up well enough. They have a couple of great scorers but I don't think the rest of the roster is good enough to keep their team ahead in the later rounds of the playoffs. I'm betting the cup will go to one of the four best in the west; Anaheim, Nashville, San Jose, or Detroit.

Not in this life time. Currently, the Penguins are in 5th place and if the playoffs were held right now, they would have to face Montreal. Montreal would win in 7 games(all this is my opinion).

They definately will not win the cup. They're sitting in fifth place only 3 points ahead of the 9th place team. If they make the playoffs they won't make it out of the first round. Not enough depth and very inconsistant.

I agree they are looking decent now, and having veterans like Mark Recchi around will help them should they qualify for the playoffs. But in truth, I don't think Marc-Andre Fleury could survive an entire playoff season. Hell, I have been proven wrong by Dwayne Rolosson, JS Giguere and others so for your sake I hope Fleury proves me wrong too.
