i know more wood, but what else?

it depends on what kind of wood.get some ash or cherry,persimmon burns hot too.but ash is the most common.be forewarned though if you are buying it,it burns fast.it is very dry which makes it burn hotter.go slow at first,burn to much and it'll run you out of the house.

any substance which burns at a higher temperature than wood. examples: some metals, a lot of gases, stuff like oxyhydrogen, acetylene

best things that can be added safely are
pure oxygen

but if u really wanna heat up
try sodium
