Sarah can be funny, in small doses, in the right role or situation. Usually she is a little too vulgar/profane etc. for my tastes. I guess that's what makes her funny to some, she seems like one thing and then sounds like something else.
I think that she thinks because she is Jewish she can make fun of other religions and races, and it will be funny, because you wouldn't expect that from a nice Jewish girl.
But I agree, not that funny.
My husband thinks she's funnier than I do. He would probably watch her show, not me.

I watched it very last week. there have been some chuckles, yet usually it develop into dumb. Her humor is as one-dimensional as her personality. Frankly, i'd like them to proceed the instruct without her, and concentrate on the Romantic Comedy element of her sister and the cop. The gay men were ridiculus characters, no matter if the appearing develop into ok. there have been some really, really endearing moments, although the off-color humor that develop into meant to make relaxing of racism chanced on as racist. perhaps it receives extra perfect interior the subsequent couple episodes, yet i don't have a lot wish of that. that is like they tried to make a stay-action kin guy. or maybe they tried to combine best chum McBeal and Archie Bunker (from "All interior the kin") and wrap it up in a Jerry Seinfeld shell. that is like a Fish Taco i tried in San Diego. It appears like a sturdy theory, although the flavors do not meld and could develop right into a chilly, soggy mess. Fish Taco, now there is an apt analogy for Silverman's comedy. She could stick with blowing Jimmy.

There were some slightly, slightly endearing moments, but the off-color humor that was meant to make fun of racism came across as racist. Maybe it will get better in the next couple episodes, but I don't have much hope of that.
It's like they tried to make a live-action Family Guy. Or maybe they tried to combine Ally McBeal and Archie Bunker (from "All in the Family") and wrap it up in a Jerry Seinfeld shell. It's like a Fish Taco I tried in San Diego. It sounds like a good idea, but the flavors don't meld and turns into a cold, soggy mess.

I agree with you - for the most part...
The thing is - it's supposed to be tongue in cheek. She is actually not racist but makes the jokes because she is actually a jew and a flaming liberal... i think...
And it's the fact that we don't know for sure that makes her a really uncomfortable comedienne to listen to.
A friend and I rented her show on video "Jesus is magic" and that one was really vulgar and offensive too. (But oddly very funny at times)
I can't imagine that she really thinks that way other than to make a joke. I wish she would just do some kind of serious work to let us all know where she stands because otherwise I can't imagine people laughing for very long...
I kind of feel the same way about Borat... the jokes are funnier if you assume that it is all self-ridicule... but you never really know why the other audience members are laughing.

The picture of the little boy on the purse is Sarah Silverman's nephew. She said this on The View last week.

I watched it. I was expecting it to be really good, but it just wasn't. However there were a couple of parts that I found absolutely hilarious, enough so that I would watch it again in hopes that it gets better. As far as the racism goes, it wasn't funny, its never funny, and it just isn't needed.

I watched the 1st episode with a good attitude, thinking she was going to be funny. Unfortunately, it sucked. I didn't laugh once, no matter how hard she tried, and I'm with ya about the racism. It was so riduculous at times it felt like an episode of hte Andy Milonakis show, yeah... it was THAT bad. And what makes it even worse, is that I was high... and ANYTHING makes me laugh when I'm stoned.

Sarah Silverman is stupid, racist and unfunny. If she wasn't Jimmy Kimmel's girlfriend, she would never have had a TV show in the first place. I hope it gets cancelled after 13 weeks!!

Her in your face attitude doesn't make up for the fact that it just fell flat. Zero laughs. It just couldn't hold my interest at all.
