I always had an idea that God (if he exists) could have created a primitive form of the universe (i.e. Big Bang) and then he could have sit back and watched everything take shape and evolve. Why not?

Like i've said a million times before- Evolution is not a question. Evolution is not a theory. Evolution is a fact- that's right a fact.
Evolution happens. There is actual physical proof of it. Organisms change over time. Things change over time.
What is a theory, what is a question, is how life evolves. The methods by which organisms change. That is what evolutionary theory is. It not that evolution is a theory- it's how evolution happens which is theorical.
Of course evolution is possible, and of course things adapt to their surroundings. You learn things don't you? You act differently depending on teh situation right? That's adapting to their surroundings.

it depends on where you stand between science and religion, in the way you have put it evolution doesn't happen in one lifetime it happens due to a combination of natural selection, and mutation, so if you have seen the movie evolution, evolution in the real world isn't like these it takes a very long time for something to evolve, at the moment in the human population evolution will not occur unless there is a major environmental disaster, firstly because those people who are at a disadvantage to others e.g. being blind deaf etc won't die from them because there is no natural selection in the human population because it is wrong (Hitler tried to achieve this) however in the wild if there is a deaf or blind animal, it cannot see a predator approaching so will be killed, whereas the animal that isn't at a disadvantage can run away and be able to reproduce and pass on its genes to offspring, whereas the dead animal cannot this would be an example for natural selection.
as for the question evolution is possible, but takes a long time, and generally evolution won't occur in humans because most reproduce and pass on their genes, so there is no removal of weaker genes and promotion of the stronger ones.

I have to agree with KZ. Evolution is an observation. The theory is the explanation for how it occurs. Interesting question for the religion section, but already settled long ago in science.

if evolution happened, who says god didn't create the universe and let things evolve into exactly what he wanted them to evolve into, makes as much sense as anything else.

I think God can create things by whatever method it chooses. I do not understand why some people don't get that. Of well, go figure.

I think you are reading to much into your dream. Just come to your own conclusion, you do not need strangers to tell you what you should interpret from your own dream.

God created everyhing.
How He/She created it is another question.
If God could create it God could use any means God choose.
Time couldn't mean a lot of God.
