The Spurs have not shown any competitive edge all season. They seem content with loosing home court advantage in the west (you may say that means little for the Spurs, but Dallas and Phoenix are great road warriors too)

The Spurs could plausibly defeat Mike Antoni (D purposefully left out) and the Suns. While that series goes to 6 or 7, expect the mavs to sweep the 4 seed, just for the ability to sit back for a week watching their possible contenders.

Mavs-Spurs. Lets not mince words. The Spurs were outcoached last year. Avery neutralized the famed spurs centers by going small. This year you have the coaching and the aging spurs. Bruce bowen has lost a few steps, Duncan can barely take a few steps. Avery has specialized his team, not for winning games...but for killing contenders like the Spurs, Heat or Suns.

The Spurs will be a threat come playoff time, but there are a lot of really good teams in the west, I think the West representitive in the finals will be the team that gets hot out the 3 or 4 really good teams, East is much more clear in my opinion I think the Pistons with Webber now are cut above the rest.

it looks like the spurs and the suns are headed to a 2nd round thriller. but i would put my money on the spurs, even if they dont have the athletic players and couldnt drop 120 in regulation. boring and methodical as they are, the spurs could shut down the suns (and yes, even the mavs). with a healthy duncan and ginobili holding fort, they are almost a lock at the conference finals. the only question though is if they could score enough points to win ugly and scrappy games (think 80-78).

they can beat the suns in a 7 game series but don't look for them to go to the finals or anything
