Some people can't seem to disagree with others except by insulting them. If you want to change someone's opinion on a topic, try to understand where they are coming from first, then explain respectfully why you disagree. I suspect that many people come from a past of hurt and rejection, then being self-appointed police for the politically correctness movement gives them lisence, they think, to attack people. It just makes things worse though. And those same people, if you disagree with them, call you hateful and a bigot. It's a double standard and it'll come back to bite you some day.

I remember the old word for " Political Correctness"
We called it ' Manners ' Now, it doesn't have the same meaning then as it does today. Today, Political Correctness is more of a set of rules governing your conducts with others so you don't get sued.
All hail the First Amendment and and God Bless America! You go ahead and talk all the crap you want to me. I'll listen. But we ready when I come back. I don't want to see any hypocrites running away to hide be hind their carefully constructed wall of political correctness.

Shows the average intelligence of people I've heard. And the fact that they aren't open to new views means they are just narrow minded or have made up their minds. Noone can change that person because they have the free will to think however they want.

They use political correctness to make themselves come across as more intellectual than they actually are; they berate people to feel better about themselves.

You answered your own question but to add to it; in my opinion those that berate others don't have any particular agenda to put others down..They go for it at any angle as it is their life to do so. It makes them feel better as they are inferior in their own mind but don't recognize it....
