does ps3 play hd dvd's?

No, the Playstation 3 will only play Bluray dvds. They are basically the same thing, but the Bluray can hold more data than the hddvd can. I have viewed hddvd and bluray on my lcd tv (1080p) and they both look the same to me. Its hard to tell the diffrence even when watching the same movie on both formats (i own a 360 and optional hddvd player and a ps3), right now the 360 is my fav.
