I just purchased a Toshiba U3 4gb flash drive. Is there any way that i can disable the U3 software from coming up every time that I plug it into my computer. It is annoying, and i can not use it at work whilst this software is popping up. I love the drive, it is the best flash drive that i have ever had

You can't simply delete it. You have to run an uninstall utility from u3. The link is provided in the source below. Just ignore all of its messages about the software being smart -- it's just junkware.

U3persistent comes with the U3 software preloaded; it really turns your flashpersistent right into a cleverpersistent, type of emulating a cd. you may carry software and settings on yourpersistent together with your information archives. you may plug it into any computing device and artwork, play video games, edit images, browse the internet or e mail only as you may on your own computing device. you may password-preserve your archives. nevertheless some locate it demanding (and a protection probability) noticeably if you happen to use thepersistent in common words as a backup for his or her information. And it does no longer run on the older OS. you may continually uninstall the U3 launchpad and applications yet you may't positioned it lower back on considering a specialpersistent controller is needed.

If you want to permanently get rid of the U3 software, you should be able to delete it. Try formatting the flash drive. You will want to copy all your important files off of it first!

If it is compatible with a Mac, try formatting it on there; switching operating systems might work.

God bless.
