no u don't need a class i make that homemade soap all the time this is what you will need which u can get from a craft store soap mold glycerin or any soap that can be melted fragrance color even herbs to add to the soaps and parchment paper to wrap soaps later also you will need a knife and plastic measuring cup that holds at least a cup and a microwave...just under a minute for about five small squares of soap then add color fragrance oils and anything else like herbs stir with spoon let it sit for about a minute then pour into molds..after about five minutes her is the best trick take the entire mold with all ur new soaps and put in fridge for a few hours it wil harden nicely and you will be able to just turn it over and gently push our ur new soaps..they make great gifts for people too...just don't overhear soap like to a boiling point thats the only caution other than that have fun

No need to go for any class or any other training for making soap. Just buy all required items to prepare soap and brochure for making soap. It is very easy to make soap by reading the brochure. I have tried it and succeeded in getting a nice flavored soap.

Juat go ahead and try it at small level and then come to me with your experience.

I have Read about making home made soap, It was called Grandma's Lye Soap. In the document they mixed Animal Fat and Lye in a large heated tub. The trick was to get the amount of fat and lye in the correct amounts. Unfortunately the correct mixture was never reveled in the article. Remember Lye is very caustic and dangerous to work with, great care should be at all times. Mix lye in sufficient cool water to prevent it from becoming hot enough to boil. lye can damage clothes, plastic and rubber, and even eat through skin rapidly especially when hot!!! Please reconsider and try another way.

There are, I think, natural resources classes in some university.... of course its not called natural resources or summat, but do check at you local university/college if they do have a class to make homemade items or items from natural resources.

But anyway, I wish you good luck. and when you finally made a bar of soap, do put some fragrance on it...

But I am still wondering, however, why are you not obliged to go to K-Mart to get a discounted bar of soap..
