What can I do to make my eyes appear bigger?

There are a few tricks that can create the illusion of having bigger eyes :)



Avoid eyeliner completely surrounding your eye – this will effectively make your eyes look smaller. Taper a fine line from the inner corner of your eye, close to your lashes, and accent your eye shape by thickening the line more toward the outer third of your eye. You can extend your liner beyond the corner of your eye slightly to open your eye, and this will also make your lashes look thicker and longer – you can then add to this by wearing more mascara on the outer lashes, as this will make your eyes look larger too!

Use lighter shades or a slight shimmer on your lid to really open your eyes, and you could also use an irridescent highlighter under your brow, esp if you are wearing a darker color in your socket; however, try to keep dark colors to a minimum – wear them on the outer corner of your eye or smudged a little into your socket line for definition.

You can start by applying eyeliner in a shade that is not too dark for you...most dark haired women can get away with black, but the lighter the hair and complexion, you should stick to a liner that is gray or brown, or even a shade that matches your eye color. Starting at the outer corner of the eye, apply the liner on the eyelid as close to the lashes as possible, but only about 3/4 of the way across. Starting at the outer corner of the eye, just below the bottom lashes, apply the liner close to the lashes and extend the color just 1/2 way across - tapering the line as it moves across.
Sticking to a nice neutral shade of eyeshadow is always a great way to make sure that eyes appear wide and bright. Apply darker shades close to the top lashes - blend and lighten as you work your way toward the brow. Finish by applying a shimmery ultra-light shade just below the brow bone.
Lastly, make sure to purchase a good eyelash curler! No girl should neglect curling their lashes. Apply BLACK mascara in short even strokes, making sure to coat each top and bottom lash. Move quickly to prevent clumping!!
One more thing - use a neutral shade of lipstick or just plain gloss on the lips to help play up the eyes.
