Humans over populate and invade, while our real fuel (food sources) decrease, and our temporary solution is to clone. I see no benefits!

So far, I have heard lots of people saying that cloning will
lead to ... disaster, but they are never specific.

I am referring to cloning of humans, not animals.

If we cannot defend articulately why cloning of humans
is bad, I doubt you're going to get much useful on animals.

Yes, I think we should clone as appropriately to understand
more about mother nature and fix human ailments.

There may be future events that change my mind - or maybe
somebody will say SPECIFICALLY why cloning humans is bad.

BTW, like any procreative behavior, there are ways that cloning
can be abused. Producing 2000000 copies of the same human
being will upset the gene pool. Producing lots of people without
child care will mean that there are lots of people being brought
up in cruel conditions.

However, if I decided to clone myself, assuming that I provided
due care for my clone, what EXACTLY is immoral about it?

I agree there is the potential - but until somebody can actually
fill in examples that aren't abusing some OTHER moral
issue (like creating children with no child care), I believe we
should understand everything we can about the processes of
disease and how we can relieve them.

I feel that cloning other animals, if it benefits humans, should be allowed. What's wrong with it? Clones exist naturally all over the place; identical twins are clones of each other, and all organisms which reproduce asexually are clones of each other too. Every cell in your body is a clone of all the other cells, and bacteria cultures are just clones too. But suddenly we extend it to somethign bigger and with 4 legs and suddenly it's wrong? how does that make sense?

whether we allow or not, whether it is legal or not, there are certain people in the world who will not give up the attempts to clone. hence i m voting that we must allow cloning, as it can help in medical researches and transplant operations. but there must be the laws protecting the rights against the misuse of the technology.

Personally, I think that if you aren't hurting the animals, and your not screwing up genes in any way, and there is a useful purpose to allow cloning then I'm not worried about it. Go for it. Find a cure for cancer, whatever. Save the world!

Absolutely. Anything that advances knowledge should be pursued. Just like stepping on the moon. Flying in an airplane. If humans can think of it, it should be pursued. As long as it does not violate or hurt HUMANS!!! Animal rights people are advancing the work of the Devil!!! They are blights on humankind. Pyramids of ignorance. The quest for knowledge can not be suppressed. The alternative is stifling. Look at the islamics!!!

Yes! We've been cross-breeding plants and animals for centuries. Cloning is just another step along the continuum. One we remove the religious based (fear) arguments, there's little rational basis not to clone.

cloning of humans would actually be more benificial than cloning of animals to humans if ya wanna go into that route.. Animal cloning provides no real benefit to humans other than they are just "practice" cloning wise
