Do you see the problem?

We are creating a reduction in diversity in the genetic pool

1. All of life
2. Humans
3. Human personalities

We are moving towards "blandness".

This is scary because earth conditions change slightly even over just 100's of years.

Do you see what i mean? Lets see how well you can guess my thoughts and articulate them.

Cheers!

Personalities are like genetic footprints.

How exactly are we creating a reduction of diversity again?

If you've studied population genetics, you should know that reduction of diversity occurs all the time. However, diversity is maintained by other thigns which maintain the diversity of a population. They are:

1. Sexual recombination and diploidy
sexual recombination is a powerful creator of diversity and variation, because it takes all the genes and all the alleles in a population, sticks them in a lottery machine, and spits out new combinations of them. And diploidy maintains variation because it allows two different alleles to be carried all at once, and keeps hidden a huge amount of recessive or co-dominant alleles hidden away in carries.

2. Balanced polymorphism
This is similar to an equilibrium concept. If all members of a population become similar, then predators will all go for this large amount of similar members. Thus, selection will favor individuals who have different expressions, and maintain these polymorphic forms of a gene. Also, alleles are maintained sometimes through a heterozygote advantage, where herozygotes for an allele get some sort of pheotypic advantage over others.

3. Neutral Variation
there are tons of genes which do not contribute to darwinian fitness at all. These genes will have little selective pressure to disappear, and thus maintain variation.

yeah, I really don't see it. There is absolutely no evidence that we are losing genetic diversity, there's plenty of sexual reproduction going on. As far as moving towards "blandness" and homogeneous personalitys, I fail to see how that would be related to loss of genetic diversity. Even if it is happening.

I think you are ignoring a whole lot of the rest of the world if this is your viewpoint.
