Does accupuncture work? YES!
How does it work? It works by either stimulating the flow of your lifeforce energy (ch'i) or blocking the flow of ch'i.
How long does it last. That responds to how you think and react to stimuli. ch'i becomes slugish by a persons habits and thinking patterns.
There are some people who have one or two treatement, and never need another treatment for a year or more, Then there are others who need a treatment every few weeks.
The best would be the one that actually uses the needles that can penetrate the 705 accupuncture points. EFT and accupressure helps; but not as effective as the needles.

yes it works. Your body is made up of water, muscles, tissues and bones with nerves laced throughout the system. The nerves are connected at junction points called meridians. When energy gets stuck in a meridian or gets detoured along a nerve, communication with the brain, to the effected part of the body, is stopped. Acupuncture re-connects the communication between the brain and effected parts of the body. The results of the acupuncture will last as long as you don't block the energy a second time. Imagine the pipes in your house becoming blocked with minerals. Somewhere in your house you won't get water. Then imagine a tool that will send a serge of mineral cleaner through the pipes to open it up again. That's what acupuncture does. The problem is we reclog the pipes with our thoughts, beliefs, and fears. Yes we do it to ourselves. When we block the nerves the second time we have to get another treatment to unblock the nerve or meridian. This can go on and on for months if we have created a goal that blocks the treatments. Humans are strange that way.

Does it work - yes
Is it the best alternative - depends on the cause you want a cure for. If it is pain pick up a book to help yourself (with or without help) called The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.

I was a skeptic at first until I finally tried it. I went in for a relaxation treatment and when one needle was put in my arms just dropped and my whole body relaxed it was fantastic.
