I was stationed in Korea, and the war-fighter plan is simple, N. Korea is in a win/win situation, their people are starving the economy is terrible, they have to "round up happy people" when foreign dignitaries visit.

If they start a war and win (not going to happen) then they will rape the resources of S. Korea. If they lose, S.Korea and the US will help rebuild the country, China will step in and allow the leaders, and their money to exile there.

Clinton through Carter cut a deal for aid and high tech equipment so they would not build a bomb. they lied, the Bush administration has been playing them right, one ignoring them like a screaming child, and not giving in to their threats.

That tantrum didn't work like it did with Clinton so the N. Koreans are trying another tactic, one of give us some money and this time we won't lie to you. Its just a game, sooner or later we will have to assist S. Korea in just taking over the peninsula its the only way to permanently solve the problem.

North Korea is really part of China, you know Asian Communists and all. They were never in any trouble with the U.S.A. the whole thing was a political sham for last Novembers elections. You can bet the bomb they tested was Chinese.

well... personally I think that China said... "look little brother... we're tired of this **** and we think you need to chill out... .or we will chill you out"

war is bad for business (unless your selling tanks)... and China and the U.S. are making billions off of each other... if some crazy dude was acting crazy and threatening to take away billions from you, wouldn't you settle the situation... (which if the U.S. and N.Korea got into a rumble it would hinder trade with China at the very least)

of course... there is no real way to know... kim is crazy and you can never tell what crazy people are thinking...
