im in 6th grade and i have a very high reading level. lets just say highschool-ish. i like to read books that involve sex, drugs, alchohal, and reality things. i need to find a book for school that will give me points for my WARP test. for those who dont know what WARP is, its a requireed test in the school library that you take after you read a book a gives you points.

Try Saint Iggy by K.L. Going. The story is about a boy in high school whose parents are drug addicts and he gets kicked out of school for threatening a teacher (he didn't really threatened). With so much against him Iggy decides he wants to try and get back into school and the way to do that is to do something good for society. Unfortunately Iggy isn't very smart so he has a difficult time trying to find something to do.

There is also Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan about two teens who meet in a club in NYC and spend the night trying to get away from their exes. The book takes place over the course of an evening and they wind up at a lot of different places and meet a lot of different people. I have to warn you up front that the book has been criticized for its content and language and you might want to double check with your librarian before using it for any sort of school related tests.

Neither book is terribly long, but they are both high school level stories.

Read the book CHOKE by Chuck Palhaniuk, it has everything you are looking for. Actually almost any book written by Chuck will give you what you are looking for. If you have ever seen the movie Fight Club, Chuck wrote the book. Happy Reading!
P.S. It might be a little too much on the adult side, you may need to read it again when you are older to get the full context of it. I am not trying to be condescending either, there are just things you learn with experience and age. :)

Michal Criton writes some interesting things that have at least some touch to reality, they are all made up as far as I can tell, but they none-the-less involve some of the stuff you are asking for. Generally I think he does Horror/Mystery stuff. I don't know if you are interested in Fantasy or not but My favorite book is called the Secret of Dragonhome by John Peel, it is well written and should give you decent points.

White Oleander by Janet Fitch is a really good book. Another idea - does it have to be a book? Do short stories count? Edgar Allan Poe has got some really interesting stories. Even Kahlil Gibran. He wrote The Prophet. It's really good. Good luck!
