keep that competitive edge against China in this trying time, he can't tell the world the truth for fear of retribution, would you support the action?

If he was so worried about China he would stop the outsourcing, balance the trade deficits, and stop weakening the dollar by his high spending/tax cuts.

I don't believe in a faith-based presidency, and I do want to know the facts before we kill thousands of innocent people...

Maybe we should have invested in green technologies like Brazil has...a country no longer reliant on foreign oil....

He just wants to keep him and his oil/contracting buddies rich at whatever cost...

Really the Oil is a big reason for going. Without Oil these countries might still have Wacko Dictators, but they would be poor Dictators and not a threat to anyone. We would be safest in a world with a free and stable Middle East, and least safe in a world with wealthy Dictatorial regimes using fear to keep everyone in line. The current chaos in Iraq is a happy medium on the way to the best option. I'd rather they fight and figure it out, and end up using their oil money to better their markets, and thus quality of life, than to have the majority of population repressed in fear while the Dictator tries to bring on Armageddon with Nuclear weapons. P.S. - No Nuclear weapon has ever been used in a War, the bombs dropped on Japan were Atomic(Hydrogen). What was that hidden mobile trailer used for again? --- producing Heavy Hydrogen was it? I don't believe anyone is using heavy Hydrogen for fuel cells.

yes, at least we would be going with the real reason, but to ask a question back, why not do what china is doing and invest in africa where there is much less resistance(although we just announced a whole new command base in west africa today, a little late, china has been there awhile)

Absolutely. We should just quit farting around and conquer the whole Middle East like in the good old days.

I am not being sarcastic. Why does America always have to play the good guy? Funny that liberals believe in evolution--survival of the fittest--except when it comes to superior firepower...

Thats not the reason. We are in Iraq the same reason we are in S.Korea to protect our country from Other threats. You cant invade one country because you are scared of another..so he came up with a BS reason to get us over there.

And what if you're a conspiracy theorist who, in the absence of fact, turns to paranoia to justify his fears? We are at war in Iraq to protect our country, not our status.

If he himself had went, maybe.. but he used live humans as toys and got many people killed for a lie. Its something I can never forgive. I can only hope he dies in the same manner as these children and parents he killed.
