How has American and British Music influenced the Australian music scene in the 1960s??

i got an assignment and alot of people in my class are having trouble with what to say. it has to be a max 400 words (which means about 350 words) it can include information on Elvis Presley, the beatles, the rolling stones etc

I think the British music scene had more of an influence on Australian music in the 1960s - The Beatles obviously were a major influence. Many Australian groups and singers tried their luck in England in the 60's - The Easybeats, Masters Apprentices, Bee Gees, all tried their luck in the UK (most failed, unfortunately). Australian music magazine Go-Set was around in the 60's, I believe there is a historical website with a lot of articles from Go-Set. Try Googling Go-Set and see what you get. Good luck!

it was a huge influence both from the USA and Britain, take way to long to give you much info, have a look maybe at the songs that were covered by kiwi and aussie singers , should be able to search on that.. hope it helps
