I agree with you in a number of aspects. Yes, I do believe that there are entirely too many people that spend their time looking for things to be offended by, and by doing so, they paint a very negative image of themselves. It's gotten to the point in which people are becoming afraid to speak because they're so worried that anything they say we "offend" someone and end up getting them sued.
I think it's absurd to call the Snickers commercial "offensive and potentially dangerous", but this is the way society has become. If the ACLU was worth anything at all, it would quickly take the side of the advertiser, and point out that the advertsier simply expressed "Freedom Of Speech", and they might also want to remind the homosexual community that there is no law that states that everyone has to like homosexuals.
I think it's time that people stopped being so pathetically thin-skinned and learned to ignore the things that bother them, rather than making huge and ridiculous public displays of whining and oversensitive drama.

I definitely think that those minorities groups are simply separating themselves from the rest with these kinds of actions. By not throwing a fit when there are black coaches at the superbowl or there is a commercial with homosexal overtones, the majority is saying that we accept these minority groups. No big deal, they are as good as we are. Most white people didn't think twice about the coaches being black. I personally thought there already had been black coaches at the Super Bowl. But, then the minorities make it a big deal, and they're basically saying, "Ha! We are special, we are great, we are fantastic and deserving, bla bla bla". It's like, shut up already, nobody said you weren't. It does make me mad a little bit.

I watched Superbowl and saw that ad.
I'm also a gay man.
My boyfriend and I also started busting up laughing at it.
People need to chill out. It's just an ad. It's not like one guy in response chased the other guy with a crucifix in one hand, a bible in the other while calling him a f@ggot.
Please. Political Correctness is KILLING us!

i ought to imagine there's a huge difference between sexual orientation and gender. a woman is a woman. She ought to savour sex with different females, or love different females, yet she's nonetheless a woman and faces all the criteria of womanhood. Why ought to she unexpectedly be excluded from the gender she is area of because she has an major different who's a woman? Inherently, there is not any divide the following. i imagine the form between lesbians and gays - each now and then, yet for sure not in all circumstances - is that lesbians as persons many times decide on to maintain their female identity, at the same time as gays as persons many times decide on to resign their male identity and embody a woman identity extremely. So that is a count number of what gender team someone chooses to belong to, not which one someone should be positioned in. Having sex with someone would not outline gender. A lesbian isn't a guy, neither is she not a woman. different issues are in touch. We shouldn't exclude people from having a voice as a particular gender purely because of who they have sex with. Edited, because you made added comments. not all lesbians are feminists, and not in any respect all feminists are lesbians. do not confuse both. Edit 2. Any female has the right to speak as a voice for all females, purely as any guy has a proper to speak as a voice for all adult adult males. If particular adult adult males decide on now to not use that proper, it really is their decision. If particular aspects of the inhabitants refuse to settle for those voices as representative of the completed, it really is likewise the right of the inhabitants. possibly those gay adult adult males we are speaking of do not see any subject matters at present plaguing adult adult males as an finished, so that they haven't any decide on to be vocal in that element. females have better problem about their gender because we many times wade through from inequality in our lives, because we are females. we've something to say, and we are contained in the spotlight better because of it. You look throwing out random disagreements with feminism and lesbianism with out any authentic good judgment, coherence or reality to again up your ideas, which makes it slightly difficult to reply. And this isn't precisely a ideal medium for lengthy communicate and debate.
