The Parallel Lines album was huge and produced a string of hits. Then it kind of went downhill from there if you ask me, even though I loved them, and saw them live in concert. The biggest hits that came after that were Tide is High and Rapture. But no one liked rapture, it was too far ahead of its time for most white people (outside of maybe NYC) to have heard much rap or hip hop yet. I know that myself, I didn't get it. Now she seems brill for it. Even if it is far from a good example of rap.

Yes, during their time, Blondie was pretty big. Debra Harry was a bit edgy and that's what caught everyone's attention. It just so happens I have a "BACK TO BACK HITS" cd in front of me that covers Blondie and Pat Benetar.
Blondie:
1. Call Me
2. Heart of Glass
3. The Tide is High
4. Rapture
5. One Way or Another
Pat Benetar:
1. Heartbreaker
2. Hit Me With Your Best Shot
3. Love is a Battlefield
4. We Live for Love
5. We Belong (bought the cd for this one song but ended up liking most of the music)

Yes, Blondie became one of the most successful and memorable bands/groups to come out of the New Wave era. They had a string of hits beginning with "One Way Or Another" in 1978. To learn more about Blondie and the face of the band, Deborah Harry (who released excellent solo albums), visit www.allmusic.com or wikipedia.

Yes, technically Rapture was the first song to go #1 that has rap in it not Tone Loc's Wild Thing.
