I once washed my foam rubber cushion insides in my bath tub. Just filled it a quarter full and put laundry detergent in. If it is in rubber lining try washing it down with bleach to help take out the smell. Or spray it down with a pleasant scented Lysol that kills bacteria and odors. Another suggestion is to take it to a Laundromat and put it in one of those commercial front loading washers with lots of detergent so it gets a good wash. Good luck!

Foam cushions are best replaced if they get funky. If you cannot replace it, try this:

Get a good enzyme spray cleaner (one that 'eats' proteins) and follow the directions to mix it right, then mist the cushion heavily- but do not let it get too wet! Place the cushion in a big plastic bag for a while to keep it nice and moist and give the enzymes a chance to work.

Remove it from the bag, sponge it off with a damp sponge, and let it dry in the sunshine.

If there is still an odor, repeat the process.

Wash whatever else you can, however else you can.

If the cushion still stinks, get a new one and wrap it in a plastic bag (between the cushion and the cover) before using it.
