in my opinion it's finding yor niche and being happy with it--that elusive part is trying to actually find it!

Your opinion is certainly part of it. I think that the ultimate secret is that we are not these physical bodies. That we are spiritual beings who have a soul and live in a body. The other big secret is that Jesus is the Son of God and that the entire Bible was written by God but through people.

I think the ultimate secret in life is "How will I die?" because that is one thing you cannot truley answer, even if you are diagnosed with a terminal diseas such as AIDS or Brain Cancer, you never know when a Fire will burn down your home or Hospital room, or wherever it is you are staying. You never know when your plaine will be hijacked and flown into the side of a Building. You never know when the driver behind you has had too much to drink and falls asleep at the wheel grounding his foot on the gas and rear ending you off a cliff. The point is you can't know for sure, you can guess, but you can't know for sure. It is a secret only to be revealed at the very end of your life.

I do believe on some level the secret of life is what you mentioned. Being happy in all that is life is a great persuit, lets be honest. However... i do believe if life were to have an ultimate secret... it would be its final conclusion. I think by popular concensus the ultimate question is not what it is or why it is... I think we as a people accept this aspect as it is. But I would think that the biggest secret of all is "How is it going to end". And will I be pleased with its final result.

Life is an Open Secret. What are you searching for? People have lived for centuries in search of this question. But could not find a satisfactory answer. Because life is dynamic and evolving. You keep facing it. So, sticking to one or two thumb rules will suffocate you, and throw you in a corner.

I think you're right, "being happy with it" One of the biggest "secrets" of life is attitude, it's optional, you get to choose your own. Sometimes it ain't easy, but the more you choose the positive, the easier it becomes to keep choosing the positive. Also the better you get at not letting other people choose your attitude for you, the less they try to. (Hint, try to do so in a way that makes it boring to them, try NOT to piss them off.)
