I remember some of the people at the court telling me i didnt have to go again for a while if i kept a paper with my jurty number on it i lost the paper but i still got the jury number.

You do not have to go again IF you actually were on a jury that went to trial. If you went to a jury summon but was excused, that does not exempt you from going again...I live in Arizona and had the same thing happen to me, I asked and that's what they said.

I'm in Australia so the laws are probably differant. Here if you have been called up in the last 12 months you don't have to go again

Yes, you have to go, but if you tell the judge you served in the past 12 months, he MAY excuse you...but he may not.

if you don't show up, there will be a warrant for your arrest.

save your whining for the clerk when you get there, he or she will probably excuse you.
