one solution is to kill some of the inmates that dont deserve to live Ex. Murderers (golden rule) dont unto other as you wish they do unto you) rapists, narcs etc.

put death row inmates on a coveyor belt. Tell the inmates in for lesser crimes they have 2 yrs to get atleast an associates degree or their sentence is automatically turned to a life sentence. If they obtain their degree and find suitable work, they are released. (for lesser crimes only, of course)
After a guilty verdict the inmate is allowed ONE appealate review only. Their findings are conclusive and sentencing must be carried out immediately.

They need to realize they lost the war on drugs.
They need to use prison to hold the poeple that we don't want in society and not just some idiot that did something dumb one time in their life.
I think there are alot of people in prison that really don't need to be there and they end up letting out rapist and murders early because some guy that did something dumb needs a space.

Stop the idiotic war on drugs. The prisons are full of people that have committed no other crime but to be mentally ill enough to have drugs in their possession. That will open up many cells to people that actually commit crimes. Treatment would go a long way in helping these people.

All murderers - death penalty
child rapists - death penalty.
multiplre rapist - death penalty.
drug dealer soft (only Mary Jane) - He/her has to take a certain
percentage of his/her income to charity for the rest of his life. A public approved charity. Make them wear a GPS bracelet. Make it so they can search their house anytime for drugs or drug money.
Make it so if your in prison the only way you get any kind of good behavior is to work for a charity.

Do away with the God-awful 3-strike laws, and start releasing people who have committed victimless crimes.
Quit arresting people for pursuing happiness.

Increased use of the death penalty would help in 2 way:
1) Those executed would not take up prison space.
2) Frequent executions would discourage crime.

i believe you answered your own question...but theres to many layers to talk about because of course if you got the death penalty you would want a trial for that...and im sure you arent going to pay for your own lawyer so the tax payers will provide one...it ends up costing a lot @.o its a shame...i believe in the death penalty

I think we should send the hard core criminals to Iraq to fight the war. When they return, the time they spent there should go toward the time they have to spend incarcarated.
