Depends. Is your primary god Odin or Freyja or another of the Norse? Do you plan to engage in bloody vicious battle in the very near future, if so, make certain you have sacrificed to your chosen god beforehand. If you're going to go bersarker make certain your clothes are stratigecally ripped in places so you can shed them easily while brandishing your sword/axe/both. Make absolutely certain you die in battle, preferably taking a lot of your enemies with you! This is a key thing! You can't die in bed! The Valkyrie won't come for you if you're lounging around in a comfy bed. Once you're dead on the battlefield they'll ride down from Asgard, scoop you up and take you to Valhalla. There you can enjoy endless meat and mead and in the evenings chop up freinds and foe alike, being resurrected again by morning. Sound good? Sign up with the Norse.

suicide?
Seriously though, valhalla is a gamble. it is known as the "HALL OF THE SLAIN" meaning you normally have to have died by being slain. however, the biggest requirement is more than being slain, you have to have drawn blood at some point during your life. don't misunderstand this and think murderors can get in. the vikings (and modern day followers of the faith known as Asatru) value honor. it is considered a virtue to test your blade against one of equal skill; meaning if you spar with someone of equal skill, and you cut their arm off, it's fine. but if you're a black belt martial artist, and you're going against a four year old girl with a sword, that is wrong, obviously.
many women, when their husbands perished would commit suicide by throwing themselves on their husbands burning pyre as their way of "Drawing blood".
but, even if you fulfill the requirements, draw blood, and are slain on a battle field, you have a fifty fifty shot at valhalla. Freyja takes the first half to her hall, Woden Gets the second half.

First of all you have to be a follower of Odin. After that you have to die in an honorable fashion in battle, one for a cause that would strengthen the belief in Odin and the rest of the Norse gods. As a priest of Odin I already have my entrance planned.
