I think its a major obstacle in the ways of learning, evolving and reaching out. You know, to proud to acknowledge a mistake, to proud to reach out for help, to proud to hear the truth etc...Another word for ego, I guess or the 'I' factor.

Ask the Amish...they do not believe in pride in any form..they are in complete submission to God and therefore have little to no problems like the ones the United States are facing today.
They resist change and live for their families, work their own land, create their own healthcare and wear simple clothing that does not reflect arrogance or individualism.
Pride will be the what creates the end of the US as we know it.

It is a witholding of oneself because of a conviction. Men often do not go outside of themselves in many aspects because of this. This can work for or against, but because it is controlled in most or all aspects, things negative may not become positive. This results in failings. It just depends on the the dice that life has thrown you.

We need to realise when we are wrong and move forward with open minds and respect and love in our hearts. It is not a competition to see who is right or who is wrong, who cares ,just listen to each other and find common ground and do what needs to be done or say what needs to be said
