Slightly above average. Most people that I know whom have been married for that long and are happy have sex one to three times a month, well I now some couples who have sex a lot more often than that, I guess it also depends on the family life as well whether or not you have kids, how many, and or daily routines, work schedules. It depends on a number of variables that determine how much a happily married couple has sex no matter the amount of time they have been married.

The important point is that if you have been happily married for 16 years it is enough.
Statistically it is more than average with the Japanese only averaging 46 times per year and the French with 137. See link below for many interesting statistics.
I am from UK and my wife is Finish so we have to have sex 216 times per year to keep up the standard (119 for UK, 97 for Finland). At least I think that is the way the statistics are supposed to work and I am happy to try not letting the side down.

Wow that's above average then what I've heard. But my husband I still have a healthy sex life too just um not that often. I think we average 3 times a week and we've been married going on 11 years.

above average. well, it really depends. but just because it may be above average doesnt mean that either one of you all is an addict. Three times a week is average, even for married couples after 20 years.
