I mean seriously movies like Saw, gorry horror movies, pretty much anything by Quenin Tarrintino- they are great movies but they would be just as great to me without the violence.

maybe because it is so rare that we see things like torture it is fascinating- but movies liek "Hostel" and "Saw" were blockbusters
a lot of people pay to see movies liek these-- I am not against violence in film but I don't liek to watch it- why do people like to watch it so much???

Films that are like Saw and Hostel I don't care for even though I like horror movies. Films that are just torture seem to me like the film version of laziness which exists also on tv programs. I am referring to so called reality tv programs, the kind of competitions that could be written by any competent seventh grader. Anyone can write torture or so called reality tv. Thinking is going away.

I think that there are two reasons:

1. Some of the fans have such dull lives that they need some extreme excitement to balance the boredom in their real lives.

2. The rest are overly stressed by the mundane life pressures that they need some outlet to vent off all that steam.

I think people who like those types of movies like the feeling of having been through something horrible and surviving; without actually having to literally experience it. Adrealine junkies, I'd have to say.

That's because ppl have different interest..! Hell off with the "u like violent movies because yr a violent person"
What u like and dislike is all interest and it defers. For instance i love comedy and classical movies but my friends hate it! they prefer violent ones, whereas some other prefer sci-fi ones. We all don't think alike. Musical may please my taste buds as same as violent movies may please others taste buds.
We are all different. So its no surprise that some might prefer different then us.
