so do you think no one should have protested vietnam and called our government a bunch of murderers? you support what happened in the vietnam war. that's really fascinating. i thought nobody supported it but looks like i was wrong. you guys think everything your country does is wrong just because IT'S YOUR COUNTRY. but you could have just as easily been born in another country and criticizing the U.S. from afar. think about it. ever heard the term ethnocentrism?

Yeah, I think no one should have criticized the Vietnam war back then. It was a losing endeavor from the very beginning just like it was for the French for over 25 years. All it did was alienate the general American population towards a bunch of 18 and 19 year old kids who thought they were doing the right thing, and provide strength and resolve to the North VC. We weren't murders, we were patriots at that time. Unless you served in Nam, please don't criticize those that did. It was a lifetime ago, and some wounds never heal. Remember, a lot of kids died thinking they were doing it for people like you.
Also, the current conflict may be about oil, but I Support Our Troops.

It would have nice if the protesting gave a rat a** about the people who were fighting in Vietnam. That's what your missing, these hippies did not welcome their age mates back with open arms, quiet the opposite. And the fact that you are twisting everything is very fascinating. They should have protested and then welcomed home the vets who fought there. These were people who were quoted as saying "make love not war" and then they acted like barbarians, spitting on people, calling them baby killers. Criticize the country not the soldiers serving it. Or did you forget about them. If people acted like that now what would the story be. Protesters throw dog sh*t on returning soldiers from Iraq. Would anyone stand for it? It wasn't right then, and its not now. The message was good, to bad most of the protesters missed the point.

I don't mind people criticizing America as long as they can take some criticism directed back at them. See how angry you get when people don't agree with you? Try some tolerance before you preach it to everyone else, I know it's not the liberal way but try it just for fun once.
